HISTORY OF MCSD

The roots of Madhyanchal Cricket Society of the Deaf (MCSD) trace back to the Madhyanchal Association Deaf (MPAD), formerly known as Madhyanchal Association Deaf. This parent body played a key role in encouraging young deaf talent across Madhya Pradesh to participate in national-level cricket events.

A significant milestone came when MPAD facilitated participation in the 3rd T20 National Cricket Championship League for the Deaf, held from 20th to 24th June 2018 in Gurugram, Haryana. This experience laid the foundation for a more focused approach towards deaf cricket in the state.

To strengthen this vision, a new, dedicated body — Madhyanchal Cricket Society of the Deaf (MCSD) — was officially registered on 14th February 2019, with a sole focus on cricket development for deaf players. Shortly after its formation, MCSD proudly participated in the 1st One-Day National Zonal Cricket Championship for the Deaf, organized by Deaf Cricket Society (DCS), held from 26th to 30th March 2019 in Vadodara, Gujarat.

Under the Guidance of its First President, Mr. Anand Agarkar, and with the Support of 60 Committed Players from Various Regions of Madhya Pradesh, MCSD expanded rapidly. Today, Many Major Cities in the State have their own Deaf Cricket Teams Affiliated with the Society. This Growth Reflects the Selfless Contributions of Dedicated Members who have Tirelessly Worked to Promote Disability-Inclusive Sports.

Continuing its mission, MCSD hosted its First-Ever State-Level Tournament — the 1st T-20 Madhya Pradesh Cricket Championship for Deaf — from 07th to 09th June 2019 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Since then, MCSD has organized and participated in several major tournaments, further solidifying its role in empowering the deaf cricket community.

MCSD has also contributed to India’s International Success in Deaf Cricket. In the International Deaf Cricket Series (T-20 & One-Day) held from 24th November to 4th December 2019 in Kroonstad, South Africa, the Indian Deaf Team finished as Runner-Up. Two outstanding players from Madhya Pradesh — Sumit Bidwal and Nand Kishore Sahu— represented the country and gave remarkable performances during the series.

Further, in the India vs. Sri Lanka Deaf Cricket Series held in Delhi from 02nd to 08th December 2024, the Indian Deaf Team Emerged Victorious, with Aman Chouksey from Madhya Pradesh Playing a Tremendous Role in the Team’s Success.

In addition, MCSD has earned Runner-Up Titles in Several Prestigious National Tournaments, including T-20, Test, and 50-over (One-Day) Formats, reflecting its Consistent Performance and Growing Reputation in the Indian Deaf Cricket Community.
